Messi, light-bulb moments & genius passing


It’s not a secret that I love Lionel Messi. When he first stepped on the Camp Nou pitch in his first ever Barcelona match, I loved the flair and speed that he had, and that hunger to just keep the ball. And that hair. When he gradually became the greatest in the world between 2008-2009, I loved his ability to beat a man. He just left them there, standing, or crawling. When he moved to a more central position, I loved that he could snap his fingers and make a goal happen out of nowhere.

Goals aren’t the most fundamental part of the Messi of today. He still scores them, but not quite as much as he used to. Which is a ridiculous comparison, anyway. No one will ever score as much as Messi did. Not even Messi. But he’s given me yet another reason to love him. That reason…
